Marooned and can’t get home! Close yet so far! Learning to deal with country life
Living on a homestead sometimes comes with a cost. We’ve learned that when it’s going to rain a lot or rain up north to stay at home. The road to town goes over a dry river bed.
In Arizona, it doesn’t flood often. Maybe once a year. But this rainly day we had to go to a museum tour reservation. It was our daughter’s birthday and we were expecting friends and family to accompany us so it was already paid for.
And honestly, it wasn’t even really raining when we left. But by the time we got to the museum the clear blue sky turned into heavy rain clouds and it even hailed! Very unusual activity for Arizona. But our wonderful fun day turned into a disaster when we found ourselves trapped on the other side of the river and couldn’t get home.
